The SoulSmiles Concert Series is an intimate concert event that highlights independent singer/songwriters in the Atlanta metro area.
To develop brand positioning and visual identity for the concert series that attracted both the devoted audience of local indie singer/songwriters and music lovers seeking a unique experience.
A brand identity and cohesive marketing collateral developed to attract music lovers with intrigue, as well as a unique staging concept. The core of the messaging was a question to prompt an internal memory and tap into the emotional side of live musical experiences: “What happens when you hear a song that changes your life?”

The seating concept of the SoulSmiles Concert Series involved the audience encircling the performer, forming a ring around them. The logomark was heavily influenced by this unique setup with a ring encircling the type.
The ring, itself, was developed to resemble a sun to symbolize the performer shining at the center with strong support from the close, intimate audience.
The distressed typeface was chosen to illustrate the collective power of the energy found at the center of the circle. But the type is bold, sturdy at its base, and can withstand the heat, so it’s staying in the kitchen.
